Tactical Control
Develop reliable control skills for close quarters, ground positions, and confined spaces—without relying on pain compliance alone.
Reality-based control, de-escalation, and functional fitness training designed for the realities of duty, full gear, policy constraints, and unpredictable environments. First-responder training is part of Vanguard’s adult program for ages 15+, with training adapted to each student’s age and experience. First responders from North Dundas, South Dundas, South Stormont, and surrounding communities can train at Vanguard in Chesterville. See the service area.

Every part of the program connects to the decisions, distances, and physical demands that show up on duty.
Develop reliable control skills for close quarters, ground positions, and confined spaces—without relying on pain compliance alone.
Read behaviour early, manage distance, and use clear communication to reduce the need for force wherever possible.
Build strength, endurance, and mobility for long shifts, sudden sprints, and hands-on control work.
Train alongside other first responders who understand the job, the risks, and the responsibility to get home safe.
The same training creates a stronger operational picture for leaders and clearer decisions for people working the call.

Command: Support a culture of professionalism and communication. Frontline: Learn practical tools to calm situations before they escalate.
Command: Improve readiness and reduce fatigue-related errors. Frontline: Feel stronger, more durable, and better prepared for the physical demands of the job.
Our methodology is informed by law enforcement, military, and martial arts experience, with every drill tied back to policy, safety, and real calls.
We understand your agency’s policies, equipment, and current training so the program supports—not conflicts with—your standards.
We run high-fidelity scenarios in duty gear to pressure-test skills under realistic conditions, including fatigue and stress.
We validate techniques through controlled pressure, then debrief to capture lessons learned and refine decision-making.
