No question is too small. Bring every question you have about training, safety, scheduling or getting started.
A walkthrough of the academy, our dojo rules and etiquette, and what to expect on the mats.
How Vanguard blends traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and Budo discipline with modern, reality-based self-defense through the Senshōgo-Ryū system.
Practise some breakfalls and throws with Renshi JP himself, so you actually try the training instead of just watching.
Train for the moments that matter: the pressure of a demanding job, the responsibility of looking after people, and the everyday need to stay calm enough to make a good decision.
Replace hesitation with calm, decisive action. Learn to manage distance, posture, leverage, and your own response when a situation gets tense.
Build strength, endurance, coordination, and useful movement through training that translates beyond the gym and into real life.
Use focused practice and controlled pressure to clear your head, release tension, and build a steadier response at work, at home, and in public.

Our adult program is built for everyday protectors—parents, professionals, and people who want skills that work under stress, not just in theory. Men and women train side by side in a room where partners help each other grow.
Learn to read pressure, create options, and protect what matters with a calm, repeatable process.
Every session gives you a useful next step. Fundamentals create reliable movement; application teaches you to use it when the pace changes.
Build the foundation: posture, movement, breakfalls, grips, escapes, control, and the principles that make technique repeatable.
Connect the pieces through controlled sparring, flow drills, and progressive resistance that develops timing without turning class into an ego contest.
Practice situational awareness, decision-making, de-escalation, and realistic responses for the spaces and pressures of daily life.
Improve strength, endurance, mobility, and stress tolerance as a natural part of learning to protect yourself and others.
Get in early and ask about the new Monday class. We’ll help you find the right place to start.
Sport MMA brings together throws, grappling and striking with functional fitness and controlled sparring. It also includes the bi-weekly Friday Fight Night shown in the schedule.
Designed around: Kids & Teens ages 10–14 and adults ages 15+ in two clear training categories. Training is adapted to each student’s age and experience, and beginners need no prior experience.
